Hello and welcome to Jordans Media Picks, my entertainment blog. Like a lot of people, I absolutely love a good story. Nothing is better than sitting down at the end of an exhausting day and getting lost in a different world.
You could be watching Luke Skywalker fight Darth Vader with a lightsaber or reading about Harry Potter’s Priori Incantatem with Voldemort. Or, you could be bobbing your head while listening to The Eminem Show, or hanging off a crumbling train, dangling over the edge of a cliff in the PlayStation game Uncharted 2 Among Thieves. Ok, those are some of my favourite memories, but the beauty of entertainment is that there is always more to explore.
So, that’s what I intend to do. Every Thursday, I’ll be posting reviews of the latest releases, ranking the all-time classics and keeping on top of all the trending news while offering my analysis on different subjects within the world of entertainment.
The Story that Led Me to Jordans Media Picks
Before starting this blog, I spent some time as a musician/producer. This gave me an interesting insight into the music industry and how it operates, while also allowing me to experience the thrill of performing at open mic nights in my local town. The Covid lockdown meant I was no longer able to perform in person anywhere, so I went for a career change.
No, I didn’t put all my eggs in the music production basket. Instead, I became a YouTuber, recording my gameplay on games like Call of Duty and FIFA (now EA FC). During this period of my life, I found the beauty in games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Ghost of Tsushima. I decided that my ultimate goal is to one day have a hand in writing the story of a video game of that calibre.
So, I started studying English Literature and Creative Writing to give myself the best chance of making my dream come true. That is how I’ve ended up here. I am very excited to share my enthusiasm for some of the greatest works of art I’ve been lucky enough to experience.
